Moeller’s Tough Sensors Cover All The Options

[picture of position sensors] Moeller Electric's new LS range of inductive, capacitive and optical position sensors includes products to suit virtually every application, and all combine robust construction with an IP67 ingress protection rating, making them suitable for use in even the most demanding environments.

The LS range features round and rectangular format sensors with metal and plastic housings, and most types can be supplied with a choice of pre-cabled or plug-in connections. For use with the plug-in types, Moeller Electric offers cables with straight or right-angled connectors, allowing best use to be made of the available cabling space.

Moeller Electric's new inductive sensors are available in DC versions with nominal sensing ranges from 1.5 to 40mm, and in 50/60Hz AC versions with ranges from 2 to 35mm. DC types have normally open solid-state outputs, while AC types have either normally open or programmable outputs, depending on the model.

Capacitive sensors in the range are designed for use on DC supplies and are offered in versions with nominal sensing ranges from 3 to 20mm. All versions feature an integral potentiometer which allow the sensing range to be fine-tuned to match the precise requirements of the application.

For applications where optical sensing is preferred, Moeller Electric supplies diffuse-reflective sensors, which are optionally available with a background-suppression facility, and retro-reflex sensors for use with a reflector. Both types of sensor are available in round-bodied versions with sizes from M18 to M30.

Designed for operation from DC supplies, all optical sensors in the new range incorporate an LED indicator to aid setting up, and all have outputs that are fully protected against short circuits and reverse polarity. High-efficiency reflectors for use with retro-reflex units are available as accessories.
